ISTA 3A Testing Procedure is a complete simulation test for single packaging transported through a wrapping transport system. This test is suitable for four types of packaging for ordinary single package transport (including air and land transport): standard packaging, small packaging, flat packaging and oversized packaging. 3A includes optional combined vibration testing and vacuum testing (low pressure at high altitude). It is used to test the sealing performance of packaging containers and their ability to prevent product leakage, which is only required for packaging transported at high altitude by car or air.
ISTA 3A is a standard of the International Packaging Test Association, mainly used to evaluate the strength and safety of transport packaging. ISTA 3A standard covers various transport conditions such as vibration, impact, pressure, etc.
Through ISTA 3A certification, it can ensure that the product will not be damaged during transportation and can meet the customer's requirements for product quality and safety. ISTA 3A standard is a basic requirement for many e-commerce platforms and logistics companies for transport packaging. Therefore, if you want to participate in international trade, it is necessary to pass ISTA 3A certification.
Vibration Test: Evaluate the impact of vibration encountered by the packaging on internal items during transportation.
Impact Test: Evaluate the impact of impact encountered by the packaging on internal items during transportation.
Pressure Test: Evaluate the impact of pressure encountered by the packaging on internal items during transportation.
Humidity Test: Evaluate the impact of exposure to a humid environment during transportation on the packaging.
Temperature Test: Evaluate the impact of exposure to temperature changes during transportation on the packaging.
Air Transport Test: Evaluate the performance of packaging during air transportation.
Sea Transport Test: Evaluate the performance of packaging during sea transportation.
Railway Transport Test: Evaluate the performance of packaging during railway transportation.
Packaging certified by ISTA 3A must perform well in these ongoing reliability test and protect internal items from damage during transportation.
Different meanings
ISTA 1A is a non-simulated concentrated performance test;
ISTA 2A is a partially simulated performance test;
ISTA 3A is a general simulated performance test.
The test objects are not entirely the same
ISTA 1A and ISTA 2A test objects are packaging with a weight not exceeding 150 pounds (68 kg);
ISTA 3A standard test objects are packaging with a weight not exceeding 70 kg (150 pounds) transported in wrapping form (standard, small, flat or elongated packaging).
Basic test requirements are different
The basic requirement of ISTA 1A is fixed displacement vibration and impact testing;
The basic requirement of ISTA 2A is environmental treatment, pressure, fixed displacement or random vibration and impact testing;
The basic requirement of ISTA 3A standard is environmental pretreatment, random vibration with and without top load, and impact testing.
